This beautiful medieval manor house, carefully restored and furnished in early 17th century style, is set within lovely gardens full of
well-researched and labelled period plants and makes a wonderful venue for a group visit.
The house is small, but full of charm, so one part of the group tours the house for an hour with one of our house interpreters, while the rest of the group explores the gardens with one of our dedicated volunteer gardeners before sampling the home-made cake or taking a light lunch in the licensed tea room. Both groups then swap over.
If you are looking for something even more historically focused, which brings together both house and garden, a session on Tudor and Stuart herb lore with a costumed interpreter is also available. Please note that the first floor of the house is only accessible via a staircase, but there is a video tour for those who cannot climb the stairs.
For more details about group prices and opening times, as well as the steps we are taking to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable visit, see our website www.1620sHouse.org.uk or talk to one of our
team on 01455 290429.
