Located within the historic city walls of Derry~Londonderry the Tower Museum (pictured right) is a must see visitor attraction. With permanent exhibitions at the museum including The Story of Derry and 'An Armada Shipwreck - La Trinidad Valencera'.

A visit to one of Northern Ireland's many museums provides chance to uncover the history, culture and people of Northern Ireland and understand and appreciate the events and industries that have shaped the country. A popular starting point is the museums of National Museums NI. The Ulster Museum is one of the best-known and most-visited museums in Northern Ireland and one of the country's finest gallery spaces. Their vast collections   have   a   strong   focus   on   Irish   history   but   via    their    vast collections also take you to all corners of the globe with the discovery zones bringing you face to face with dinosaurs and an Egyptian mummy!

The Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh, County Tyrone, charts the story of the brave emigrants who made the journey across the Atlantic to America hundreds of years ago. Step aboard a life-sized emigrant ship and visualise the human drama behind centuries of Irish emigration.

Another great museum is The Museum of Orange Heritage which consists of two Interpretive Centres - 'Schomberg House' in Belfast and 'Sloan's House' in Loughgall, County Armagh - a joint project between the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland and County Armagh Grand Orange Lodge. Both sites opened in Summer 2015 and were supported by the European Union's PEACE III Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). They are open to the public and especially welcome school, youth and community groups who wish to learn more about the Orange Institution, its history and contemporary relevance.
