Fiftieth Anniversary Press Release
The Rural Life Living Museum tells the story of the countryside, its unique collection of re-located historic buildings allow visitors to explore inside, complemented by one of the largest collections of agricultural implements and objects from everyday life.
The Museum is celebrating its fiftieth year and the legacy left behind by founders, Madge and Henry Jackson in 2023. It promises to be a packed season of events and activities to entertain, captivate and delight our visitors from the Tractor Rally in March to Christmas at the Museum. Our programme for the coming season is packed with events for all ages. We have returning favourites such as Village at War, Land Rover Day and Fantastic Fire Engines and some new additions like The Dennis Vehicle Extravaganza and The Curator's Tour which offers an insight into the Collections Manager's role, how the museum works and the opportunity to handle some of the objects from the collection. Steam at Work is back for its second year this September with live music from special guests Leatherat and Five Chambers Full.
The Rural Life Living Museum is not all about hustle and bustle though, many of our visitors like to come on quiet days to explore the historic buildings and grounds in the peace and quiet of this beautiful setting as the museum is nestled in ten acres of Farnham Heathland adjoining the RSPB Farnham reserve. We look forward to welcoming visitors old and new, full details of the forthcoming programme are available on our website www.rural-life.org.uk, or follow us on Facebook or Instagram for updates!
