Why not visit The 1620s House and Garden at Donington le Heath, formerly Donington le Heath Manor House, a rare 13th century building, fully furnished in early 17th century style, to tell the story of its former owners and residents. Take a walking tour of the historic centre of Leicester and find out the link between the King and space exploration with afternoon tea under a rocket at the fascinating National Space Centre. Why not visit a museum or gallery, or hire a boat on the Grand Union Canal or even travel back in time on a steam train at the Great Central Railway.

You could enjoy a local festival, or explore a Leicestershire stately home. You can hear Loughborough around the world in the peal of church bells from St Paul’s Cathedral to Australia. Take a tour of the UK’s last working bell foundry and hear John Taylor and Co bells, which have rung out at the end of world wars, royal marriages and the start of rock group AC/DC’s albums. At the heart of all of this is the market town of Melton Mowbray, now known far and wide as the UK's 'Rural Capital of Food', and the former home of Anne of Cleves. There are plenty of things to keep you entertained.
