Beamish Museum

No visit to North East England is complete without a trip to award-winning Beamish, The Living Museum of the North. Located in County Durham, Beamish Museum brings to life the North East of England's Georgian, Edwardian, 1940s and 1950s history, through immersive exhibits where visitors meet friendly costumed staff and volunteers, and experience regional stories of everyday life.

From beautiful Georgian gardens to a spot of Edwardian shopping, delicious traditional fish and chips, exploring The 1940s Farm and getting a fabulous 1950s hairstyle, visitors will enjoy unique experiences and make marvellous memories. Delight in the delicious tastes of the past. Enjoy Georgian-inspired food and drink at the Drovers Tavern, traditional fish and chips from Davy's in The 1900s Pit Village or Middleton's in The 1950s Town, scrumptious treats from Herron's Bakery, sweets from Jubilee Confectioners, homemade ice cream from John's Café, sweet shop-inspired flavours from Beamish Delicious Ices and locally-sourced fare from the Tea Rooms.

Plus, Beamish Museum has a packed programme of daytime events, included in admission. Whether you're looking for a group visit for those who are serious about steam, crazy about cars or hooked on horses, Beamish Museum's year-round programme of events has something for everyone.
